Synopsis
In 1952 Rose Miller returns to her rural hometown of Beresford, South Dakota to care for her ailing mother. Once there, she falls in love with a deaf man and must decide if she has the courage to follow her heart.
The director has described it as being made on a “minuscule budget.” In the film’s electronic press kit, she explains that:
- The film was shot in 15 days (12 days in South Dakota and 3 days in California).
- Catering was often donated by the local community.
- Actors did their own hair and makeup.
- Lodging and other production resources were heavily discounted or donated.
