Synopsis
The film is also known as “They Call Her One Eye.” This 1973 Swedish exploitation film tells the story of Madeleine, a mute young woman who is abducted, forcibly addicted to heroin, and coerced into prostitution. In one scene, she mistakenly believes money left in an open wallet is for her, takes it, and is subsequently beaten by her captor. Another poignant scene depicts her attempting to use a payphone, highlighting her inability to hear or speak. The film is notable for its graphic content and has gained a cult following over the years.
Deaf Faker:
Christina Lindberg, a Swedish actress and model. She is not deaf in real life — she is a hearing actress who portrayed a mute and traumatized character in the film.
