Synopsis

*The Deaf Heart* is a 1958 British television play directed by Philip Saville and featured as an episode of *Armchair Theatre*.

It marked Janet Munro’s first British role after signing with Walt Disney. To prepare for the part, she took sign language lessons. The National Institute for the Deaf assisted with the production.

Originally written by American playwright Mayo Simon, the play was first filmed for American television in 1957 under the direction of Sidney Lumet. It was later adapted into a 1972 episode of *Young Dr. Kildare*.
