Synopsis
Esteemed Ear Surgeon Murdered After Testifying Against Colleague — When renowned ear surgeon Dr. Jack Mallory (guest star Jack MacGruder) is found murdered in his office, Detectives Goren (Vincent D’Onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe) initially suspect a drug-dealing physician. But as the investigation deepens, they uncover Mallory’s recent testimony in a controversial malpractice case against fellow doctor Dr. Strauss (guest star Timothy Carhart), who had performed a cochlear implant on an infant. The baby tragically died from a post-surgical infection, igniting outrage and division within the Deaf community. As Goren and Eames navigate the emotional and ideological tensions surrounding the case, they find themselves unraveling a complex web of beliefs in a community they don’t belong to — and a truth more layered than they expected.
