Hello – just want to let you know – I saw a tweet by deaf actress Amber Zion that there was a new movie released on Netflix today – “Hush”. It is about a deaf woman – who is alone in a house in the woods – and there is a killer stalking her. Check out this trailer.

This actress who plays the deaf woman? She is a hearing woman. Her name is Kate Siegel and she also co-wrote this movie. Her husband is the director, Mike Flanagan – hearing – and co-writer.

The ASL in it is “okay”. Check out this clip.

Nice to see ASL in a movie, but this in an opportunity that is taken away from the deaf community. We have #deaftalent and many talented deaf actresses who could have landed that role.
