Synopsis

The short film follows Giusi on a journey to transfer her father’s remains from a cemetery in Rome to one in Cammarata, Sicily, to reunite him with her mother. This physical journey becomes an emotional one as well, taking her back through the places and memories of her childhood, when sign language was the only way she could connect with the world.

The story unfolds across two timelines, weaving Giusi’s personal memories with historical moments such as the Apollo 11 moon landing. Through the eyes of the adult she has become and the child she once was, the film explores themes of identity, family, and communication in a time when technology had yet to support the needs of the Deaf community.
