LumoTV, in partnership with Døves Media, recently hosted the first International Deaf Producers & Filmmakers Forum in Reims, France, bringing together professionals working in Deaf media, television, and film production.
The forum marked the beginning of discussions about establishing an international network for sign language media and film professionals. It also builds on the long-standing European meetings for sign language television producers, which have connected professionals for more than 37 years.
Among the participants were Camilla Arnold, CEO of LumoTV; Paal Richardsson, CEO of Døves Media; Nikki Stratton, co-founder of Deaffest, Zebra Access, and Zebra Uno; Ashley Kendall; MJ Kiego, Co-Founder of Deaf Film Festival Alliance; Fabio Zamparo, Artistic Co-Director of the Itinerant Deaf Cinema Festival; and Ryan Commerson, one of the early pioneers of the Deaf Cinema movement.
The conversations will continue in 2027, when Døves Media hosts the Deaf Media Summit in Oslo. The two-day event will focus on film, television, and sign language media while welcoming anyone interested in the continued development of Deaf media.
